About the use of GPS trackers
In §125 subsection of the Service Act. 1 piece. 2, it is definitively established that the staff of institutions
on their own may decide to use a GPS for the demented as part of daily care.
That's why DANBIT has supplied GPS trackers intended for tracking dementia patients who lived in nursing homes.

The assistants can follow a tracker or many trackers on the same screen and historical data can be retrieved,
so that today's or previous days' movements can be replayed on the screen at the desired speed.
The helpers can call the citizen as the tracker has both a speaker and a microphone, so it can be called and used for conversation - and for eavesdropping.
The assistants can define "Geo-fence" - i.e. areas that, when their boundaries are exceeded,
gives rise to a message to the assistants. A message can also be given to the helpers in the event of other incidents
– primarily when the citizen presses the SOS button, but also, for example, when the battery level becomes low.

The trackers use ordinary GPS and with the Trackers APP show positions with Google Maps - both as a map and as a "route view"
The trackers use a motion sensor that is used to disconnect the GPS receiver when the tracker is stationary.
In this way, power consumption is reduced.

With the App and on the website, an unlimited number of trackers can be followed - either individually or as a group

group simultaneously on the screen. You can also divide the trackers into several groups, so it becomes more

manageable if you want to follow many trackers.
