These programmable keys are optimized to control a KVM switch and can send any key combination or string of keystrokes and reduce operator errors and training time. Everything an operator can do on a keyboard can be replicated and assigned a clearly labeled key. Dedicated keys maximize efficiency and reduce training time.
Note: KVM-X keys send pure USB HID keyboard codes and are only intended for use with hardware that does not have a traditional operating system behind them (as a sqm) . If the X keys are connected directly to a Windows, OS X or Linux computer, our standard X key products may be better suited to fit your needs.
Many simplified electronic devices such as KVM switches are not compatible with composite USB devices. The more endpoints on a composite USB device can confuse like our standard X keys. This version of our firmware emulates the clean USB keyboard to ensure compatibility with such devices.

This version of our X keys XK-24 is configured to work with KVM switches (Keyboard Video Mouse) to control multiple computers from a single workstation. Our free Windows-based programming tool makes it easy to assign keystrokes, key combinations and strings (with or without modifiers) to clearly labeled, dedicated keys. The X keys emulate a standard USB keyboard and eliminate problems with most sqm input constraints.
Programming can be saved as a file and easily copied to multiple X keys for multiple stations installations. Programming includes backlight level and color (blue, red or combination).
Customize easily an input keyboard with professionally printed keys, blockers or molded keyboard covers.
