X-400 Series products (called X-4XX series in this guide to avoid confusion with X-400 module), a family of powerful web-enabled industrial I / O controllers with many advanced features. The family contains various modules, each with different combinations of input and output (I / O). The modules have all common setup, communication and operating functions. The modules in the X-4XX series have different combinations of relays, digital inputs, analog inputs, 1-wire bus (for temperature / humidity monitoring), etc. Most modules have a fixed number I / O;
X-400 has However, a belt cable expansion bus, which makes it possible to expand I / O modules directly connected to X-400, making its I / O customizable. X-404 has an RS-485 bus that can be used to communicate with third-party Modbus sensors and devices. All X-4XX Series modules can share I / O with other X-4XX Series modules in its internal logic.
These modules have functional similarities with standard programable logic controllers (PLCs) and in many cases they can used as web-enabled PLCs. However, there are differences between the X-4XX modules and the PLCs. PLCs are typically programmed using Ladder logic, instead of X-4XX series Devices programmed either using its simple web page-based "task builder" or by writing a Basic script. The X-4XX Series modules are configured and operated using a web browser without the need for custom configuration software. The X-4XX series was built from scratch to modern network connection and supports various protocols such as HTTP, HTTPS, Modbus / TCP, SNMP and more.
