This raid controller is added as a normal hard disk and can have two hard drives in them, by default makes a disk to disk backup so both hard drives have the same data on them; can be set to run in raid 0 instead. It has hot-swap so you can just take the hard drive out and replace it with another without losing data; as it also has auto rebuild it starts to make a new backup as soon as a new blank disc is inserted.
