Remote RAID Controller U2W Channels
Advanced internal RAID controller with true SAN (Storage Area Network) features.
The controller has built-in 64 bit RISC CPU and handles up to 6 Ultra160 channels and 2 fiber channels, each with up to 15 discs, each Both Ultra160 LVD and SE discs are supported. 2 controllers can be connected as Master and Slave, so one continues if the other fails. There is a hot swap of all disks and automatic rebuilding or expansion with new disks. Multiple servers can share drives so that each server gets its own RAID system.
The operation takes place vs. The built-in control panel, either via RS-232 serial port and a terminal program or via the included application (running under DOS, Windows 95 and above, and DEC Alpha).
Optional RAID levels 0, 1, 3, 5 or JBOD (Just a bunch of drives).
Cache can be installed in a regular 168-pin DIMM slot, optionally 32 - 1024 MB ECC SDRAM.
The server installs an ordinary. SCSI Ultra160 interface, which connects the controller to a DB68 cable.
