Definition: What is a GPU? 

To meet the ever-increasing demands of advanced industrial applications, embedded systems are continuously evolving, particularly in terms of using heterogeneous platforms that combine different types of processing units such as CPUs and GPUs. CPUs perform multi-task operations through serial processing, and it's now common to have multiple processing cores with high clock speeds in high-performance computers. GPUs, on the other hand, have hundreds or thousands of smaller cores focused on specific tasks in massive parallel processing, such as image processing and data analysis.

Today's GPU computers, which integrate both CPU and GPU, are tailored to meet the needs of specific industrial applications like facial recognition, video surveillance, autonomous driving, automated optical inspection, machine learning, and other edge AI computing tasks. A GPU computer on-site contributes to improving the efficiency of the smart factory, reducing unexpected downtime, and lowering production costs.
