The compact reader will be seen as a hard drive connected to the IDE interface. This solution is advantageous within an embedded system and tunnel clients where there is room for a regular hard drive. You can now get CF cards up to 64 GB, but also with an industrial CF card of 16 GB, which has space to install an operating system. With one of these CF card adapters it is thus possible to have a system without a regular hard drive. The transfer speed is typically 10 MB/s depending on the type of CF. CF cards have a lower power than a hard drive. Note the use of adaptrar, it ends with industrial CF cards that can be booted from.
