USB to serial converters are ideal for use where serial ports are not available, for example on newer laptops and desktop PCs/servers. This can be a significant saving compared to having to convert RS485 systems to USB. All models are supplied with a loose or mounted USB cable. The converters support both OHCI (Open Host Controller Interface) and UHCI (Universal Host Controller Interface) and certain models have optical isolation up to 2000V (see diagram). Maximum speed up to 921.6 Kbit/s on the RS422/485 port
